“First available with Upgrade Certificate” means there is upgrade inventory for a RUC to go Main to First Class. Naturally, a GUC could also be used to clear into last-seat First Class.

“First available with Global Upgrade Certificate” means no upgrade inventory available for a RUC, but last-seat First using a GUC is available.
