I can see the Air France flight fine on 9/20/22 on Delta.com. Note: I pulled this up as a one-way so a round trip may be cheaper. Also, double check that the flight is not cheaper on AF.com. And Ben is right, you need to book in Prem Econ W S A for it to be eligible for upgrade.
If flight is same or cheaper on DL.com book there and then the agent wont have to take the record/ticket over from AF.

No one seems to know if you can book a AF reward ticket and apply a GUC to that. (I suspect you can’t)

GUC Rebooking options if flight causes misconnect
The recent schedule changes have left us with a 80 minute connection for JFK to LHR. Usually like more than that at JFK for an international flight. There is a Delta flight 2 hours later, and 2 additional VA flights. We are using GUC's so if we missed the connection would they but us on a Delta or VA flight in D1 if there are 2 open seats or does upgrade inventory need to be available?
Thanks
Thanks

Based on the charts from DL internal process, the agent you got was definitely confusing domestic configs: GUC to FC = J, GUC to D1 = Z. I commented on this yesterday. It seems DL's complex reissue process for GUC/RUC relies mostly on agent following the rules/instructions. Automation does not seem to stop them. So if they wrongly think you can use J space (because they don't realize its a D1 flight) then when they force the manual reissue, you won. In this case, the website was correct, your flight didn't have Z so it wasn't available, the other flights were, and the agent was wrong. But you won, so yay!!!
On the reissued ticket, does it show your upgraded flight as class OV or OK?

They are just different buckets for different scenarios.
Upgrade availability is now based on revenue buckets J Z P G. But they don’t actually book into those codes. If availability is in the correct code then they map to a different segment booking code. If you look up at the top of this thread in the wiki the mapped classes are listed in a chart.

Ultimately the process of searching for inventory has now become a bigger headache again as opposed to prior to 2/1. Additionally, if married segment logic is employed as it seems to be in some fashion, searching by segment is not a promise either. As usual, it appears what should have been easier is currently now harder.

Seeing the same, connecting flights DOM - INT when searching appear to be the biggest problem. Did find a routing with connections which displayed D1 available. Perhaps the site displays nothing if not D1 available for upgrade - as in the code is written to display all or nothing as domestic doesn't have any PS. Short answer - A bug I think.

The only concern I have for the future is if they move to a married segement requirement. KL/AF has required married segment availability for GUCs using Z for years. My opinion is that the culture at DL is pretty ingrained presently that GUC/RUC availaibilty works on a point to point basis because it has no revenue protection need, its just a perk/benefit. But who knows, maybe they decide to fully align with KL/AF and also simplify the whole complexity of calling back to add other segments as they become available and waitlists and all that jazz. Fundamentally I think married segment usage has no place in GUC/RUC usage because it would actually be a bit unfair. Mickey Mouse buys a ticket ATL-JFK-CDG and later it has married Z so he can upgrade, Donald Duck flying MSP-JFK-CDG cannot upgrade anything just because there is no married segment avail because MSP-JFK is sold out. But we've seen them do crazier things....
My bet is DL fixes the programming to put the upgrade flag based on point-to-point in the near future.

If the flight result says "First available with Upgrade Certificate" rather than "First available with Global Upgrade Certificate"... that means I can use RUC to upgrade that flight from economy to business class immediate without being waitlisted, right?

“First available with Global Upgrade Certificate” means no upgrade inventory available for a RUC, but last-seat First using a GUC is available.

Your wiki entries seem to claim that RUCs can be used to upgrade into Premium Select (and from Premium Select to D1), but I don't believe this is the case. Nowhere does DL indicate that RUCs can be used for Premium Select. There are no Premium Select fares on routes where FC fares are sold, nor on domestic D1 routes (PS cabins on domestic D1 are sold as C+, not PS) which are the only routes where RUCs are applicable.
RUC Usage
MC or C+ purchased / Upgrade to DPS / G class needed / Books into RX (Clears at T-24.15 into D1 as OX if OY available)
MC or C+ purchased / Upgrade to D1 (no DPS) / OY class needed / Books into OX
DPS purchased / Upgrade to D1 / OY class needed / Books into OX
MC or C+ purchased / Upgrade to FC (no D1/DPS) / Z class needed / Books into OL
I totally agree these don't make sense. But its listed in the table that apparently DL agents use. So maybe its there for some sort of future plans? Another inconsistency is in the other chart about what availability you need for what situation, there is an option for aircraft with MC+ and DPS but no FC or D1. That configuration doesn't exist either. @Zorak said in the old thread that has now been closed that he though he has seen FC recliner 757's flown to KEF sold as Y and PS in the past. But looking at the schedule now its sold as Y and FC. So I dunno...
Note: I added a note to these 2 lines in the WIKI questioning why these scenarios exist as these aircraft configs don't exist on RUC routes.

Has anyone noticed that the website seems to be intermittently showing the new upgrade available status at all: A few examples below, I am curious if this is a known issue or not. The first one shows one and another flight is nothing is listed.

On this route, neither option shows anything related to upgrades...
