Get the BUF-PHL gate and the agent refuses to rebook me because I have checked bags and the reroute has to be done two hours in advance because of that.
PHL flight leaves without me but the agent did at least get me rebooked on a sold out later ORD-BNA flight. I have never heard of this two hour rule before during IROPS but I was in no position to argue.
That's not AA, that's gate agents. Gate agents make up all kinds of weird rules. I have heard gate agents hassling people about checked bags before, such as when dealing with volunteers to be bumped to another flight, or same day changes, or whatever. Don't listen to them, and generally avoid being rebooked by a gate agent if you can avoid it.
