Update, all the aircraft are in the air (wife+kid on silly yellow bird to TPA sans bags, original AA flight to CLT with the bags according to the tracker, and me to SDF).

Thankfully the worst case scenario of bags offloaded in SJU didn't happen. Bags in CLT is nbd, one of us will be back there sooner or later anyhow, if AA doesn't just send them up to PWM.

Will update with how it all shakes out for the benefit of future readers.
