I'm making a reservation for my son EDI-LHR-MIA-LHR-EDI in PE. All flights are on BA metal. It's £100 cheaper to buy the tix via AA as a codeshare. The potential problem is reserving seats in advance. I've undertaken some research on this and, as I understand it, I need to get the BA flight locator from AA, to allow me to reserve paid BA seats online (my son is blue so no worthwhile status). Am I correct in saying this? If so, how easy is it to get the BA flight locator info from AA, in these covid days (we are UK based)? Curiously BA has a £150 change fee whereas AA change fee is £0.
