If your goal is *A Gold for lounge access, just know that UA *G does not entitle you to lounge access on domestic flights. UA lounges are generally nothing to get excited about, except for the Polaris ones (need to be in international business or first for those anyways). You can get *G on other carriers and get UA Club access on domestic tickets, just not with UA elite. Best option is Amex Plat card to access Amex Centurion lounges, if you are in a city with one.
