Also for the record, after I saw posts online indicating alcohol consumption was allowed on EgyptAir as long as you have an FA serve you, I told her to check with the gate agent. That agent who confirmed FAs will serve alcohol if you bring it onboard so she got a bottle and had 2 glasses on the flight. The FAs served it to her and kept it in the galley.
As far as I can tell, there is no regulation that was violated, but given you mention there are regulatory reasons alcohol is not allowed, I can assume you will point me to the specific regulation that was violated so I know for the future and you aren't just making up reasons in a self-righteous quest to scold people's beverage choices.
I think most of us, a flight leaving one day, flying through the night to arrive at its destination the next morning, would call it a night flight. But if you consider that a day flight, it would be childish of me to quibble
The regulation is that passengers are not permitted to drink alcohol they bring on board. If they hand it over to crew to secure in the galley, and the crew then serve it to the passenger, it's fine. it happens from time to time on regular carriers when passengers take on board fine wines or drinks they are particularly fond of.
