He really did not need to worry about anyone getting over-served since after picking up the "snack" remnants, he retreated to the galley where he spent the final two and a half hours of our flight.
This reminded me of the time I was flying Tokyo to Newark on United - they just left a couple of open bottles of wine in the serving area and you could help yourself - that would solve the problem of a FA not wanting to constantly go up and down the aisles - I honestly have no idea how much I drank, but at least I was able to sleep a good 6 hours on the flight because of it. (I am a tall guy so I never can sleep well in a plane)
