Wow bad luck. That's definitely not the case and I have probably two dozen data points across half of the properties. It may change under the new program, I don't know.

I've been told that once you link the accounts, it is on there permanently. However in reality I have found that every time I check in and check out I have to confirm that the World of Hyatt number is on the reservation. Always also keep a receipt in the case that your stay doesn't credit to World of Hyatt.
This has been my experience as well, but I'm pretty sure I had to do the first time in person to make it work for credit purposes.
