Trouble with Companion Pass
Hi All
I've never used my Companion pass before and I'm having trouble with the AC site.
I enter YUL - CDG for August, 2 passengers, and I select the little blue popup oval and select the Companion pass and apply it. I'm then told to choose fares with the ticket icon in them.
I choose the direct flights to and from, they have the ticket icon in the box, I select Standard Economy, and after selecting the return flight I get an itinerary without any discount and the message: Companion/Buddy Pass not applicable.
Is this an error on the site or is there something I don't understand.
SOLVED: If the amount of the "Base Fare" is below the $499 value of the Worldwide Companion Fare the website removes it and shows the regular pricing. In my case the "Base Fare" was only $321 per person RT from YUL-CDG so there is no savings to be had by using the Companion Pass. If I change the tickets to Flex the base fare goes up and it applies the Companion Pass but I end up with the same seat for an extra $1300 and the loss of my pass. No sense doing that.
