Very sad to see as it was actually the cheapest Hyatt in Downtown Chicago, in off season we’d find rates $70-$100 a night. Looking at their new rates under new ownership they’re $139 minimum in off season.

We actually stayed there a good amount over the last few years. With COVID and nearby riots they were forced to lower their rates severely.

The front desk would always mention issues with a new type of guests due to their rates being so low. Smoking in rooms, loud parties, police removals.

It was quirky, but for a cheap stay in downtown Chicago it was significantly better than a Hyatt Place or Hyatt House.

It’s looking like it was purchased in October and completely left Hyatt (JDV) in December. It has a decent location, but at the price point they want many of the 200+ rooms will go unused, because there are many cheaper hotels and many better hotels at the same or lower price point.
