I had this exact same thing last week at the Adolphus In Dallas. They upgraded me to an “executive suite” (and the app listed as such) and it was just larger room with two king beds. I’ve also had this problem at the Sheraton Old San Juan where I used a SNA for a suite and it ended up being a large corner room. Since I used a SNA award I went to the front desk and refuse to leave until I got a proper suite. They actually blamed it on merging with Marriott and now their room types and names were changing.
Looks like word is spreading between hotel owners. Only a matter of time before this is regular practice.
