Just be aware that the area around the Burj Khalid’s gets closed off hours before the NYE event and it gets PACKED. It may take quite some time to get out of the area and back to your hotel.

Actually, with kids, I would try and book a hotel that is far enough away to avoid the chaos around the Burj Khalifa but which still have view of it. The Marriott Al Jaddaf comes to mind as there’s nothing much between it and the Burj Khalifa.
