If you want to book cash, check out 11 Howard which is also in that price range (usually a bit cheaper). It really depends on the purpose of your trip and the vibe you’re going for. If you were born this millennium, the JW and St. Regis may not be too appealing. If you are older than 35, the EDITION and 11 Howard may be a bit much. Personally, I would avoid the Ritz Central Park and the Chatwal. Going off Marriott for cash stays is also valid imo. IMO Marriott is the strongest points chain in the city but it still does not have the best hotels in any price/vibe category
Wow, I had assumed most FT'ers think the Chatwal was the best Marriott property in the city.
We are 3 adults, so upgrade to suite is a huge consideration for our travel.
