Could it be that the people behind this place just hired the wrong consultants or interns? Did they really mean to name it the Socialist, or is that a poor translation of the Socialite? Like, why on earth wouldn't you call yourself the Socialite instead, given the option?

The hotel’s name was deliberately chosen, and the people involved in the naming of the property are fluent in English as well as Danish. I take the hotel’s name about as seriously as I take the Hotel Sanders name. The latter reminding me of KFC, and yet I use it despite not being a KFC type either.
