This has never been a question about politics. It has always been about public health. I work within a public health organization. We base our decisions on science. The science says it is ill-advised to travel without being vaccinated.

In my recent travels, even as a person who is vaccinated, it was a continuous worry if I would be allowed to do the next leg of the trip. The rules are constantly changing based on local infection rates and public health policies. The only thing I can say is you will be accepting the risk that rules will change between the time you make reservations and the completion of the full itinerary. You could quite literally find yourself stranded due to new restrictions. In some places (e.g., Austria while I was there), you don't necessarily need a vaccine to enter the country, but they did require a vaccine to enter hotels. And as a follow on to that, if the country will allow entrance without vaccine, to get into pretty much anyplace (restaurants, bars, venues, etc.) you will most likely need to show proof of a negative test completed within the past three days. All this will place you in the position of getting tested on a regular basis throughout your journey. So, plan for the time to get tested every two to three days, plus the additional cost.

Pretty much any recommendations we give you here today could be outdated by tonight. I know for me the stress of things falling apart during the trip would be just too much to make it worth going.
