Actually, I’m not sure what you’re looking at. By going to the web site, you don’t need to log in… if you just put the route and date in and bring up the search results, you will be able to click on the seat map for each flight before proceeding with booking.
This applies to both the new and old web interfaces. On the old interface you hit “view seats” and on the new interface you hit “details”

To clarify, it's on the right-hand side of the screen where you choose your flight in the same row as the flight number.
