Even - sorry you're experiencing the same thing. I did finally get my points on September 4th.
On August 30 (exactly 5 months after the last night of my stay), I contacted
[email protected] and they gave the same 6 months response. Then they asked me to reach out to Vacations by Marriott specialist.

I got busy (traveling -- had two separate trips where I stayed at Marriotts) so didn't have a chance to email Vacations by Marriott
However, I guess my messages did go somewhere because on September 4th (5 months and 5 days after my stay) I did get a response
[email protected] that confirmed my points were being credited. The points were so much I finally catapulted to Titanium status but it's annoying because for 5 months I didn't get to accrue the extra 25% in Bonvoy points including the stay I was on while getting this email. Well - lesson learned. I'm just glad I finally got my nights.
