One Night Stay at W Boston
Just checked out today and had a similar experience to the above poster. Used 50K points into a base room and SNAed into a Cool Corner King.
Upon arrival… Lobby feels dated and a little cramped. Time for a renovation from the 2007-esque decor. Area around the hotel is very convenient (one block walk to Boston Common) but definitely still feels gritty. Lots of trash on the street.
Room wasn’t ready at 3pm, was told would get a call when ready and they called at 4:01pm. They’d already put our bags into the room - nice touch.
Frustrating that you can’t get an actual suite with an SNA. FD confirmed that Cool Corner is the highest room you can get into with an SNA. I asked for an upgrade beyond it but was told they were fully committed.
The room was awesome. Would guess renovated within last two years. Big windows (that open!) with comfy bed, big TV, couch, separate tub. Comfy bed. A bit of street noise, but not bad. You can’t hide the mid-2000s bathroom tile though. Not a great look. Overall feels like the hotel was built a bit cheap when they built it. More like a generic apartment style construction vibe.
Titanium breakfast benefit is a $50 credit and they let you use it in the room, but as noted before you still pay service and delivery charge. Food was excellent and delivered quickly. Free coffee available in lobby all morning that was good (no real milk though).
Valet was great though at $65 it should be.
Overall a good but not great stay. I’d come back but would explore other options before committing to the W again.
