BA already raised their redemption levels for North America (the sub-3000 mile flights), either last year or early this year. AA would just be catching up. Also, I think J and F awards are the ones which are going to take a hit. But there may be some really good Y redemptions. Even DL (which has rediculous J award pricing) offers a lot of domestic award flights between 2.5K and 10K miles each way. In fact, a booked a US-Europe RT award with DL a couple of years ago for something like 36K or 38K miles... in the late spring/early summer. Yeah, I know... intl coach travel. The horror!!!

For domestic redemptions on AA requiring connections, moving BAEC Avios to Iberia Plus will often result in better value. BAEC charges for each flight flown; Iberia Plus charges based upon the roundtrip mileage, regardless of connections. But Iberia Plus does not permit changes or cancellations on AA award travel. That's the tradeoff.
