However, I've been able to scan the NHS code and generate a certificate in TousAntiCovid. Will the French app be recognized in and around Frankfurt/Mainz or do I need to carry a paper copy of my NHS certificate or figure out how to download CovPass once I arrive and find a pharmacy to update it?
My understanding (and PLEASE someone correct me if I'm wrong!) is that as long as you have the QR code in European format, it can be displayed on any EU country's app and it will also be accepted in any other EU country. Or, you can carry a paper copy of the QR code and show it along with your passport. Or, apparently you can load the QR code into your Apple or Google wallet and display it without having to load it into a country-specific app (see my post right above).
