I'm assuming that stvr is talking about Hilton's ability to pick your room off a floor map - this is unique compared to either Hyatt or Marriott (which all have mobile check-in abilities). Still though, I wouldn't want room selection to be like airplane seat selection, and I hope that Hyatt doesn't try to emulate Hilton on their "guest-friendly" and "flexible" policies (which are really just thinly-veiled attempts at reducing employee headcount).

There are only a few hotels where I would have any idea about what room to select. Heck, it took me several trial and errors to get used to airplane seat maps and sort out what I like.
I'd much rather have a well-qualified room manager figure out what room to place me in based on my general preferences on my portfolio and the balance of room quality/other guest needs. Since being globalist, I feel like I am nearly always given a room with great consideration....
