Hospitality tech is anchored in driving costs down, not creating better guest experiences. I do not like mobile check-ins for many reasons but this is a great example of technology reducing costs for hotels.
Most of the changes technology will bring to hotels will yield less labor costs for hotels. At that point, why even stay at a hotel vs. an Airbnb where I could receive a superior room (with more space) for a cheaper price? IMO I am paying for the soft product and the human element of my stays.
