Minor correction, but AA used the 763 on the DFW-LIH route. Both the 762 and 763 have excellent short field capability for a widebody aircraft (depending on the engines, of course - I believe all of AA's 767s used the excellent GE CF-6). When I've flown an empty takeoff on a 767 it's like a rocket ship (not quite like the 757, but close).
