The Quebec government has chosen not to define what constitutes "official" proof. There is no requirement to show an original document, nor is there a statement of what sources are acceptable to constitute "official" proof.
It may well be fine but it also may not be depending on who is doing the checking.
Which is what I already said.
It isn’t something I would want to count on when just carrying the actual card is a sure thing and just as easy.
Some people prefer not to carry originals of important documents. You're free to do carry yours if you choose, but I'm providing
real-world experience of having visited quite a few places in Montreal the past couple of weeks, using my out-of-province credentials and travelling with other people doing the same, and I would have little to no concern about a photocopy of a CDC card being acceptable.
