Ugh I always hated those times.
2240 is a bit early for me to really sleep, but 0030 would be great.
From wheels up to 10k on the descent (i.e. lie-flat time), it's already 3 hours (or less?), but if I'm too awake for the first hour of the flight, it's basically not even worth aiming for the pod.
tl;dr I don't take NA red-eyes any more unless they're ABSOLUTELY necessary. Which is almost never.
