IMO, the compensation you already received is more than reasonable for the circumstances.

Taken to the extreme: What if you had booked two months at the first hotel. Checked in and found the temperature unacceptable for the night you were there. Switched to another hotel for the rest of your two month stay. You would expect his hotel to pay for your two month stay at another hotel?

I would also switch hotels but know many people who find 80 perfectly acceptable or preferable.
