Actually, the contracted generic uniform people are now employees of “United Ground Express”, a United subsidiary with UA flight benefits, etc.

However, they are still bound by contractor rules and regulations.

I find that there’s usually 2 to 3 UA Agents for Premier Access & Premier 1K/Polaris combined roaming at ORD.

Funny enough, I was just in Frankfurt, which only has a handful of flights, <1% of what ORD has, and they had 4 agents for Premier Access & Premier 1K/Polaris, so I don’t know how ORD (and other hubs, for that matter) manage.
