Polaris check in at O'Hare: no actual agents?
AA Exec Plat here who has shifted about 50% of business to UA for scheduling reasons. I flew to Iceland last week in "Polaris" from O'Hare. The UA app would not successfully scan my passport and I had one bag to check. When I went to the Polaris/Priority/whatever area, there were no actual agents doing check in, only bag tagging. The person behind the counter kept asking me for my record locator-I handed him my passport for ID and he kept telling me to scan the passport as he was not an actual check in agent. There were several people just standing around doing nothing. Is this the new United for Polaris passengers? I felt like I was in the twilight zone. Have others had similar nonexistent service at O'hare lately? I remember checking in a bag back in December and not having this same bizarre experience.
