The cost of flying 100,000 passengers from core Mercosur+Chile to Argentina is a fraction of what it would cost to fly 100,000 passengers from the EU, Canada and the US to Argentina. And maybe the neighborhood tourists are more likely to populate Argentine accommodations in a different pattern than the EUropean and North American tourists.
As much as I would appreciate being flown for free to Argentina as an American from the US or from Europe, I can understand it costs way more upfront to fly me in than it does to fly in tourists from Argentina’s neighbors.
Will Aerolineas Argentina be getting the bulk of the business from the government subsidizing the 100k (or whatever) passenger tickets?
