I'll say that for me, a single stop is one stop more than I'd like to have, and that's far more important to me than what I'd consider to be small differences in service between the major legacy US airlines.

I've mostly flown US/AA over the past 10 years here out of CLT, but every so often I catch a DL or UA flight and it's honestly all the same to me as far as the experience you're getting. Especially so if you're using an itinerary that's covered by a regional carrier that brands themselves as any of the Big 3 on any given flight.
