What are the chances my checked bag actually makes it?
Any insight would be much appreciated… I’ve rarely had to fly anywhere with a connection and the few times I have it’s always been a 2+ hour one early in the day…
So one problem with a connection that is right at MCT (minimum connection time) is that there is no room for error. If your first leg's arrival time is delayed by even one minute, thus dropping your connection below MCT, the system could rebook you automatically, even if you end up actually end up arriving at the gate in SLC before the door closes for the second flight.
Whether you will have to pay to stay overnight in SLC (if there are no other routing options available until the next morning) would be dependent on what caused the delay on the first leg.
