It's not even a matter of doing your due diligence as it says flights from Germany to India must originate in Europe, Shengen, etc. This is somewhat ridiculous.

LH can indeed transport certain passengers from USA/Canada to India - Example: Diplomats; USA/Canada passport holder with Indian Visa (Not OCI), and so on.

So, they will continue to sell tickets on those routes.

Therefore it becomes the passenger's responsibility to check if they fall within the rules.
