Regardless of the cause, a high incidence of specific danger at or near a particular property is something a reasonable traveller would want to consider in evaluating whether or not to stay there.

This information should not be suppressed.

For the record, this would not bother me, as I avoid crocodile-infested waters at night. And I have lived in some "bad" neighborhoods.
