Will add a short review after the stay but agree this is a nice option for Jackson.
We stayed 3 nights the other week - overall the place is great. Bullets:
Pros
- Location is directly on the square. I am not a fan of the mass of humanity that is Jackson in the summer, but it sure is convenient if you are around town.
- The interior spaces are immaculate and very nicely incorporated. 'Western Luxe' but very tasteful and comfortable (even though I called out to my wife that the trees lining the lobby spaces are mostly Birch, which doesn't grow anywhere nearby, but they do look 'Aspen-y'. Yes, she rolled her eyes)
- The Bistro is excellent. We ate there two of three nights and wish we had done the same the 3rd.
- The rooftop lounge might be the best single feature of the hotel. It was for me for sure. Loads of space, 360' views of town/Snow King, etc You can call down from there and have food/drinks delivered from the Bistro. About 2/3 of it is covered which is nice when the afternoon storms roll through.
- The pool/hot tub is small but very convenient and wasn't ever crowded despite town (and the hotel) being very much crowded.
- Rooms are decently sized and very well done. Obviously brand new, nice touches on the furnishings and whatnot. We had a basic 2 double room for two adults, a 12yo and our Brittany and it was completely fine, space wise.
- Bedding is excellent and the Shower is quite large.
- The flatscreens at the ends of the hallways with a short motion sequence of a different local critter each day (Bear, Bison, Moose, Elk were the ones we saw) are great (and really stumped the pup)
- Staff were all pleasant, helpful, happy, and efficient
- The valet is pricey, sure, but for being smack in the center of town, I appreciated it. Especially since I was leaving early a couple mornings to head out fishing and returning at what amounts to rush hour (5:00/6:00)
- $50/day breakfast credit for TItanium/Plat/Amb - seamless. Order anything you want from The Bistro before ~10:30 and $50 is taken off the bill.
Cons: -
- The rooftop lounge - as noted, a centerpiece of the hotel and honestly what made it worth the point level for me - was booked for private parties 2 of 3 nights we were there. I understand they are new and certainly as awesome as the rooftop is, it's surely a high demand spot for private events, but it was pretty frustrating to only get to enjoy it once (both nights it was booked 4:30p-close). There is also a middle lounge area with a couple propane fire pits and couches above the pool (on the walkway between the "main" lobby building and the other wing) that was also booked for a private party 1 night (thankfully the night the rooftop wasn't).
- Location is directly in front of the 6:00pm 'shootout' Play which gets a little annoying (but only lasts like 10 minutes so this is absolutely a pretty minor nitpick)
- Obviously the cash rates are sky high, but it's a luxury hotel in the middle of one of the more tony tourist towns in the West, so when the Antler lodge motel a few blocks away is going for $550, it seems directionally correct.
We usually come through Jackson once or twice a summer and while 3 days is too long for me personally, I'd not hesitate to blow some points here again the next time.
