P.S. USB C charging hasn't even really been a thing that long, so obviously, you charged with some other cable prior to that, it just wasn't a lightening cable.
So I travel with a bunch of electronics, and everything in my bag charges or uses USB-C. I made a point of that. When my other 10 or so gadgets all use USB-C I'm not eager to have to use another type of cable for anything:
Headphones, MacBook Air M1, ThinkPad, ThinkVision external monitor, iPad Pro, External HDD, Battery bank, two android phones, all USB-C.
My stupid Samsung watch also doesn't get any love when traveling and almost gets thrown out everytime due to its charging interface.
As for the other cable comment, I actually primarily upgraded to the iPad pro I'm using to get rid of the lightning cable I had to use with my older iPad Air.
