Upload your COVID documents online (trial)

I just got this email.

GET YOUR REQUIRED NEGATIVE COVID-19 TEST VALIDATED BEFORE GOING TO THE AIRPORT

Your upcoming flight is part of an Air Canada trial to ease the airport experience

La version française suit ci-dessous / French version follows below;

BOOKING REFERENCE: ******

Dear valued customer,

We are excited to let you know that your upcoming flight is part of an Air Canada trial to test a new digital solution that allows you to get your required pre-departure negative COVID-19 test validated before getting to the airport. Taking advantage of this option will help speed up your airport process and ensure a more touchless experience.

Here’s how to take advantage of this option:

1. Get your proof of a negative COVID-19 test result.

Please make sure that your COVID-19 test meets the requirements of the country you are travelling to. For more information on entry requirements, please visit our COVID-19 Hub.

2. During online check-in, upload your test result document, or use your camera equipped mobile or tablet to scan the QR Code provided on your test results when prompted.

This must be completed for each passenger included in your booking. Check-in opens 24 hours before your flight and up to 1 hour before departure.

If you scan a QR code: You will receive a validation confirmation instantly. Note that currently we are only able to accept test results with a QR Code from Centogene Labs, which is based in Germany. If you are travelling from Germany, book your test with Centogene Labs here.

If you upload a test result document: You will receive an email with the validation confirmation.

· Note that the Air Canada digital solution can only process English or French documents in a PDF or JPEG format. If your test result document is in a language that is supported by the country you are travelling to, but is not in English or French, please have your document validated at the airport. This does not apply to test results with a QR code.

· If you are uploading documents for more than one passenger, note that you may not receive all validation confirmation emails at the same time.

· While our agents will do their best to validate your document in time, we may not be able to review your document in time. Do not worry, if you have not received the email confirmation for each document you have submitted before your flight, please have them validated by one of our airport specialists.

This must be completed for each passenger included in your booking.

If your document is rejected, please review your test requirements on our COVID-19 Hub and/or check for any technical issues. If time permits, please try again. Otherwise, simply bring the original copy (physical or digital) of your negative COVID-19 test result with you at the airport so that it can be validated by one of our airport specialists. Note that our Call Centre agents do not have the ability to assist with this process.

3. Print your boarding pass or load it to your phone and simply proceed to the airport

If you had already printed your boarding pass or loaded it to your phone, please make sure you replace it with the updated version that will include the document validation.

The validation of your COVID-19 test document will be automatically integrated into your booking and added to your boarding pass.

Important notes for all passengers included in your booking:

· You will still be required to carry the original copy (physical or digital) of your negative COVID-19 test results with you throughout your travel journey.

· You may also need to get other government forms or requirements validated, if applicable.

For more information on entry requirements, please visit Air Canada’s COVID-19 Hub. As the COVID-19 situation can change quickly, so can government regulations. Stay aware of any changes up until your day of your departure as it remains your responsibility to ensure you are in compliance.
