What limits are there with respect to routing?
I presume for a partner airline, there needs to be award space available (specifically the MUC-SYD segment is probably going to be the limiting factor..). But for AC? Will they accept an itinerary with any flight (preferably direct YYZ-MUC and say SYD-YVR-YYZ), regardless of the cost the search engine spits out (
and I won't be on the hook for the extra points?)
When I did it, the agents I worked with (two different calls, two different agents) both quoted a "must be same routing/carriers/layovers" rule. Which was pretty trash because schedule changes gave me a Frankenstein routing, which we had to track down in the search engine over the phone... (praise cowtool)
