All the flights I have taken since May have been very full or sold out. Even with limited upgrade inventory, I only have one flight that did not clear.
I don't expect complimentary upgrades and have always redeem PP if I want to seat in F.
I am lucky because I am GS, and have always found myself #1 on the upgrade list. Some of the upgrades cleared when I have already been seated in Y just before the door closes.
It will be interesting to see if current pattern changes after the peak summer travel period is over.
