I didn't know LH did that. I remember years ago when I joined Miles And More just to eligible for a promotion, I received a member' s guide. One of terms and conditions that was actually highlighted " The holing of a higher status card does not entile the member to be seated in a higher service class than on his ticket". I was also once upgraded after they didn't need me as a volunteer ( with no LH status) that they upgrade those volunteer first before their own elites so that they don't expect it on every flight. I fully support airlines OPing their own elites when needed be.
