Comments are not just exclusively limited to Hilton
1) Labor costs in the US are much higher than places like China or Russia
2) There are many more elite customers in the US region than most international regions, creating more competition for benefits and making benefits more expensive to provide
3) Hotel owners in the US use debt financing extensively and have to aggressively monitor costs in order to ensure profitability
