As part of the overall O'Hare redesign, T5 is being significantly expanded and will become the home to Delta and its SkyTeam partners. The T5 changes are due to be completed sometime in 2022. The latest information that I have seen is in
this post on the ORD Terminal 5 thread over in the US/Midwest forum. It does not look good that the BA lounges in T5 (along with several other T5 lounges) will ever reopen.
The new airport design will have each of the three major alliances housed in their own terminal that will incorporate US domestic as well as international operations. So I suspect that the airlines who had lounges in T5 may be waiting for the completion of the airport redesign before committing any funds for new lounges.
