So I finally got through to someone on chat in the app. Apparently, whoever issued the travel credit, put MR. in front of my name. There is no place when making a new reservation to enter MR in front of your name. I asked if my name on the travel credit could be changed to my correct name and she said no. The only way to get it resolved is to create a new reservation on hold using my first and last name, then the chat agent can apply the travel credit but I would still have to call in to pay the difference. The current wait time is 4+ hours. So frustrated with AA. Used travel credits with other airlines with no problem at all.
