Honestly, the nicest looking properties seemed to all be concentrated in Bellevue - not the best for a first-time visitor to the city. As a result, I remembered my Hyatt status (I still default to Marriott, typically) and decided to try out the aforementioned Hyatt Regency as their 3rd night free offer made the stay come out to $120 a night (as well as trying out the older Grand Hyatt for a night).
The W and Westin Bellevue both seem pretty nice (I've spent time in lobby, bar, etc....) . That said, I can't imagine why a Seattle visitor would stay in Bellevue. It would be massively inconvenient.
