I don’t even eat cake Ala mode.
Plain cake (e.g., anything out of a box) needs ice cream - just not blended together with milk.

Portillo's (seasonal) lemon cake is even better than their chocolate cake.

I may have that beat. I still use Ann Lander's recipe.
