I find it pretty insulting when the pandemic is being used/scapegoated as an excuse when that's not really the case. If the restaurant was closed due to local mandates, I would accept their explanation 100% (though ideally it would be clearly disclosed on the website before arrival so all guests were aware of what amenities are available). For the restaurant to be serving breakfast to those willing to pay for it, while the hotel is refusing it as an elite benefit and blaming the pandemic, and for corporate to spew out false explanations in response to complaints... well I guess this is a perfect example of everything that is wrong with Marriott right now.
