Assumptions are in the post description but basically I am going off of the highest base return.
Factoring in credit card 14x is not relevant to most people who don’t have ties to the United States to get a US AMEX. There’s also an opportunity cost to not choosing to instead earn a transferrable point currency or straight cash back, the latter which might be accompanied by no annual fee at all.
TPG valuations are also laughable. Marriott has far more aspirational redemptions with outsized value than Hilton does. Right now the two most aspirational Hilton properties (WA Maldives and ROKU Kyoto LXR) have 0 or essentially 0 standard award space for the entirety of their booking calendars. Marriott luxury properties in the same locations have standard award space every month. Good luck getting 0.6c/pt like TPG says.
