At that level, it is utterly pointless to try to stop imported cases of infection as they make a negligible contribution to the spread of the infection. Control of inbound infections only starts to make a sensible contribution once you have largely eradicated domestic spread, like Asian and Australasian countries have done. Until then, for a state of average to large size, it is just a waste of time (and hence why, incidentally, the current restrictions of leaving and entering France from third countries are meaningless but that is another issue).
Absolutely agree.
When we landed Iberia made an announcement to remain seated and to only stand up once the row in front had begun to deplane. Of course, as soon as the door opened, everyone got up and piled into the aisle. OK, the announcement was made in Spanish and English. But the exact same thing happened on a recent AMS-CDG flight when the announcement was made in English and French. I don't understand what it is....
Then what struck me immediately compared to Madrid where most everyone was wearing a mask properly.... back to the "n'importe quoi" of the mask around the chin, hanging on the ear, mask around the mouth but not the nose...
I really don't understand but these behaviors have to be contributing to the explosion of cases. A year later, people just don't seem to get it.
