Even though this is not necessarily apropos of the topic for this thread, I pass along for general information that my efforts to push my reservation back a month have collided with AF's durcissement since November of the conditions for modifying tickets. My ticket is P, so I reached out to le service la Première , as I did in late November for a flight in early December, to push my trip starting Thursday, 11 February, to 11 March. I was informed that such a change would engender a 2000€+ fare adjustment plus associated fees for issuing a new ticket.

I objected and underscored that the reason for the request was the tougher exit and reentry restrictions for France. Following up my initial exchange via e-mail with a phone call, I learned that nothing in the way of new guidance in the wake of the new restrictions had (perhaps yet) trickled down to agents. They are following the tougher guidance caused by the "reopening of frontiers" late last year. I, of course, noted the "reclosure of French frontiers" nearly ten days ago. I'm waiting now to learn whether some sort of dérogation might be applied in my case. It's always good to have a reserve box of diazepam for these moments.

This may need to be included in or the subject of another thread, but I pass it along here for those who may find themselves in a similar situation as we struggle to get around, overcome, or reluctantly accept the obstacles placed in front of us.
