Stag's Leap Cabernets from 13 vineyards

Got this in an e-mail today

The Stags Leap District Winegrowers Association is proud to release its annual Appellation Collection, the only mixed case offered from an American Viticultural Area. Comprised of one Cabernet Sauvignon from each of the Association’s 13 member wineries, this unique “Vintners’ Dozen” provides an exciting opportunity to explore the appellation and taste the lush fruit and soft tannins that are hallmarks of the Stags Leap District. The appellation — the place itself, the terroir — produces Cabernets that impart power and grace, wines that are layered in character and flavor yet uniquely supple and silky. It’s what we mean when we say the wines are “Rock Soft.”

Bottles include:
Baldacci Family Vineyards - 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon
Chimney Rock Winery - 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon Reserve
Cliff Lede Vineyards - 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon
Clos Du Val - 2000 Cabernet Sauvignon, Oak Vineyard
Hartwell Vineyards - 2001 Misté Valley Cabernet Sauvignon
Ilsley Vineyards - 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon
Pine Ridge Winery - 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon
Regusci Winery - 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon
Robert Sinskey Vineyards - 2000 RSV Cabernet Sauvignon
Shafer Vineyards - 2000 Hillside Select Cabernet Sauvignon
Silverado Vineyards - 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon, Single Vineyard Selection

It's not inexpensive at 850 a case with only 300 cases, but if you are into cabs from that little corner of Napa, it may be something you want to look into. I have to go get the change out of the couches to get my $850.

I'm guessing there is some great cellering potential in that box, so I may have to buy two, one to drink now, one for a few years down the road.
